College Financial Aid
FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is the official form students fill out to apply for financial assistance for college or career school, unlocking federal grants, work-study, and loans, as well as state and school-based aid, by providing financial info like tax records and assets to determine eligibility. It's free to submit, crucial for accessing the biggest source of student aid, and requires details from students, parents, and contributors.
CASFA, or the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid, is a safe, easy way to apply for state financial aid if you are a Colorado ASSET (Advancing Students for a Stronger Tomorrow) student. Allows state aid to be awarded to students who do not have lawful immigration status. Non-U.S. citizens and those that are not permanent residents of the U.S. can use the CASFA to apply for institutional aid.
Students who are eligible to complete the FAFSA should not complete the CAFSA.
